Missing man found deceased:

At 16h45 on Monday the 15th of April NSRI Gordons Bay volunteers were called out following a request for assistance from a lady who said that her 29 year old cousin had left the Arabella Golf Estate on Saturday, 13th April, at around 15h00, by car and intended to drive the R44 coastal road from the Arabella Golf Estate to Cape Town, via Gordons Bay. He had failed to arrive in Cape Town as scheduled on Saturday evening.The Arabella Golf Estate lies between Kleinmond and Hermanus.The man's family had reported him as missing to Police but fearing that his vehicle had possibly left the coast road between Kleinmond and Gordons Bay the family member appealed to NSRI to search along the coastline between Gordons Bay and Kleinmond.Gordons Bay duty crew launched a sea rescue boat and began searching along the cliffs below the R44 roadway (the coastal road between Gordons Bay and Kleinmond) from the sea side and at Dappat Se Gat, near Koeel Bay, approximately half way between Gordons Bay and Rooi Els, the NSRI team came across the wreck of the vehicle.A Sea Rescue swimmer was put ashore to investigate and the body of the 29 year old missing Cape Town man was discovered at the vehicle wreck.Family members in attendance at the scene are being supported by Police Trauma Counselors.The body has been handed into the care of the Forensic Pathology ServicesPolice have opened an inquest docket.
