The Knysna Sea Rescue boat house was officially opened today ( Saturday 2nd March 2013).Station Commander, Graeme Harding, called for a minutes silence to remember those who died in the Italtile plane crash after saying:' On the 8th of February 2011 the fog rolled in and the sky was a big black cloud which brought about the tragic loss of nine lives along our coastline. They say that evey cloud has a silver lining and in this case it had two.'' After the Italtile crash Plettenberg Bay's station was rebuilt with Italtile being the main sponsor. They then embarked on a fund raising event by climbing Kili, where they raised funds for what we see around us today. These two beacons of light will forever shine in the memory of the nine souls that we lost on that day.'Knysna Station Commander Graeme Harding during the official opening of the boat house.
