Blue View is towed into Simons Town by Spirit of Safmarine III.The 12 meter high speed cruiser, Blue View, was towed into Simons Town by Spirit of Safmarine III yesterday. Blue View was en route to Simons Town from Gordons bay's Harbour Island with only the delivery skipper on-board when he had steering failure off East Shoal approximately 1 mile to the East of Seal Island in 15 knots of SE wind and 1.8 meter swell.The skipper attempted to rig his emergency steering which also failed.NSRI Simons Town were called at 12:43. Spirit of Safmarine III launched and on arrival a crew member was transferred on-board to assist the skipper while a tow line was rigged and the boat was towed into Simons Town.Eddie Beaumont II also launched and stood by during the docking to assist.Pictures by Chops Craig.
