Ian Wienburg and Meriel Bartlett are in the UK for a series of meetings before heading off to the International Fundraising Conference in Amsterdam. Today they spent time visiting the new Shoreham boathouse just south of Brighton. The boat house is manned by a team of volunteers and open to the public. They also have a shop. While Ian and Meriel were there a group from RSPCA were in training using the RNLI facilities and were due to go out on the boats as well. They even have a volunteer from South Africa, Mike Bundy, on their station.
Ian and Lynda Powell.
In the shop: Lynda Powell, shore crew Martin Hallett, Chris Cassell and engineer Mark Blatcher (in the RNLI big boat stations the engineer is a full time paid job.)
