On Saturday Richards Bay stood by on Lake Mzingazi for the airshow in Richards Bay. The airfield borders on a lake and the Richards Bay volunteers stood by in case a plane was forced to ditch into it. NSRI was supported by the SAPS Search & Rescue. On Sunday, while some of the crew were at the station, they were called to assist a jet-ski which had some rope caught in her intake. Vehicles were not able to access the area so the rescue boat Rotary Ann was launched to tow it around the island and to the ski-boat club. The winds were gusting to 45knots at the time.
