NSRI CEO off to IMRF

NSRI CEO Ian Wienburg is off to the International Maritime Rescue Federation Conference in Gothenburg, Sweden, from the 3rd to 5 June. The slogan for the conference is “responding together” and the focus is on mass rescue.“ There are more and more cruise ships passing our coast and rescuing say 10 people from a boat is very different to a mass disaster like I hope we never see,” said Ian.Also ... Sea Rescue has been instrumental in setting up, training and equipping rescue services on the Great Lakes and Ian has been personally involved in the organisations in Uganda and Kenya. As the IMRF representative for Africa Ian’s focus will be on domestic ferry safety in the developing world.The IMRF is kindly sponsoring a large portion of the cost of Ian’s trip - a big thank you to them for that!
