Wilderness Sea Rescue volunteers hosted 41 grade 4 (age 10) pupils from Glenwood House School during a WaterWise training session yesterday.Held at GLYC, they focused on 3 areas with the children: how to plan for an emergency, CPR and boat safety. It was very well received by both the school and the pupils involved. WaterWise volunteer Torsten Henschel took three crew from Wilderness with him for the talk, Robert van Helsdingen, Bianca Rautenbach and Jaques de Bruyn, all of whom presented sections of the material. The whole group was split into 4 smaller groups and worked in rotation, together with 2 other presenters (a certified sailing instructor and an environmental consultant).
