Sunday 04th March 2012At 18h53 on Sunday 04th March the St Francis Bay duty crew were called out to assist a 48 year old Humansdorp fisherman on the Chokka fishing boat Vukane I suffering from an epileptic seizure, 1.8 nautical miles off-shore of St Francis Bay harbour.The crew launched Spirit of St Francis II, accompanied by a 24/7 paramedic, and on arrival the fisherman was stabilized, transferred onto the sea rescue boat and brought to the NSRI St Francis Bay Sea Rescue base. He has been transported to hospital in a stable condition.
