HOUT BAY Wednesday 21st March 2012.Four men managed to swim ashore after their boat capsized at Duiker Island near Hout Bay. The men phoned relatives in Hout Bay after their boat capsized and they had swum ashore. The relatives alerted NSRI.Our volunteer duty crew were called out at 18h30 on Wednesday 21st March and launched MTU Nadine Gordimer and Albie Matthews. We found all 4 men, in their 30's, from Harbour Heights, Hout Bay, safely ashore.Two of the men were brought back to Hout Bay harbour by NSRI and two chose to walk home. Their boat, a 5 metre, named Shanana, was recovered by NSRI and has a large hole in the hull. The men were out fishing for Hottentot when the incident happened.
