On 17 February 2012 the NSRI Gordons Bay held its first fundraising Golf Challenge at the Somerset West Golf Course. It was a great day and positive feedback were received from the 89 players, sponsors and guests. We raised a large amount with the auction. Jacques Kallis shirt, a Teddy Bear called 'Bogey' and wines from Villiera and Spier were some of the items on auction. Also wine bottles signed by rugby players Boland Coetzee, Hempies du Toit and sailor JJ Provoyeur.The raffle (Defy 210l freezer) was won by Anton PrinslooOur prize winners were:1st - Manie Human & Shelwyn Brown2nd place - Jochen Schroeter & Enayon3rd place - Dennis Shillito & Kevin van der Spuy.Best ladies team - Gerry Menezes & Sonja KohlerLongest Day - Klaas de Jongh & Tinus FourieClosest to the pin - Neil Hargrave, Naas Ferreira, Rocky Menezes & Manie HumanLongest Drive - Boeta Smit We raised over R25 000 for Station 9, Gordons Bay. We aim to make this day an annual event and hope to see everyone back next year.
