On Sunday morning Station 6, Port Elizabeth, received a call for a bakkie well and truly stuck on Kings Beach.They made contact with the Beach Office who were only too glad with the offer to help.Although this type of call is treated as seriously as all our calls, extra crew were sent through to gain experiance. While the juniors were clearing sand from in front of the wheel a snatch strap was fitted to the front of the vehicle.
In a couple of minutes, and on the first try, the bakkie was pulled out of the sand.The owner had tried to recover a Jetski and reversed a little too far down the beach were a wave swamped the back of his bakkie and bogged him down.
