St Francis Bay Friday 13th January 2012.At 12h50 on Friday 13th January St Francis Bay volunteers were called out following a request for assistance from the Chokka fishing boat FARIKI, 4 nautical miles off St francis bay. They reported a 35 year old crewman, from Jeffreys Bay, collapsed on board having seizures.Our duty crew launched SPIRIT OF ST FRANCIS II and responded to the scene, accompanied by a 24/7 ambulance service paramedic.On arrival the patient was stabilized and brought to our sea rescue base. He has been transported to hospital in a stable condition.NSRI are urging bathers along the St Francis Bay coastline to exercise caution due to the presence of a White shark in excess of 5 meters in length, patrolling the shore-line for the past few days in full view of curious onlookers, holiday makers and residents.The local town council are informed and while necessary alerts have been posted NSRI are taking this opportunity to caution bathers, surfers and paddlers.
