PORT ALFRED Tuesday 15th November 2011. Man missing presumed drowned:At 06h33 Port Alfred volunteer duty crew were called out following reports of a drowning in progress at East Beach.The duty crew launched the rescue boat Arthur Scales and NSRI rescue swimmers were dispatched directly to the beach. The Ndlambe Fire and Rescue Service, Ndlambe Traffic Services and the SA Police Services also responded.On arrival a full-scale search commenced for a 20 year old local man who was reportedly swept off his feet by a wave and disappeared.No sign of the man has been found and he is now presumed to have drowned. Police and a Police dive unit have taken over the search. NSRI Port Alfred remain on stand-by to assist if necessary.The man is a local from the area. Police have opened an inquest docket.RICHARDS BAY: Tuesday 15th November 2011.Yacht towed:Richards Bay volunteers were called out at 07H05 on Tuesday 15 for the yacht Satumaan which required a tow into port due to engine failure. Spirit of Richards Bay was Launched at 08H14 and proceeded to yacht's position. A tow-line was set up at 08H40. Satumaan was towed into port and put along side at 09H50.
