Wally Hyman 25 July 1947 to 22 October 2011Wally's funeral will take place this Friday 28 October 2011 at 10:00 at St Georges Anglican church in Knysna. His ashes will be scattered in the Heads on Saturday.Wally Hyman, long time member of Knysna’s Sea Rescue station, has passed away after a battle with cancer. Wally joined the station in February 1982 and has been an active and much loved member ever since.Wally, with three other Knysna NSRI volunteers, was awarded a Certificate for Outstanding Service by then State President, and NSRI patron, PW Botha, for his part in rescuing two men from an overturned ski-boat in the Knysna heads in 1987.For the last few years he took over the duties of station administrator.Station commander Graeme Harding said,” Wally was such a big part of our station. The guys are very upset. We are going to miss him.”Our thoughts are with his family and friends.RIP Wally.
