NSRI EMERGENCY
OPERATION CENTRE (EOC)

This morning we had the privilege of spending time with the Pilakoutas family from the Strand. We invited Johnnie and Elaine to bring their children Matthew (15), Andreas (7) and little Stephanie (3) as well as their cousins and a few of Andreas's school friends to our rescue base in Gordon's Bay. Andreas was the man of the moment and he proudly wore his NSRI beanie. Dressed in lifejackets and braving the South Easter, his family and friends were treated to a tour of our Jack Riley rescue boat and then enjoyed a party kindly sponsored by Spar.Andreas was diagnosed with severe heart defects the day after he was born and he has spent most of his life in and out of hospital. But today, Andreas was a rescue hero riding on the high seas.

Special thanks to Yolande Engelbrecht of Unlimited Events who did the photoshoot for the family at no charge.
