At 10h28 (Friday, 08 July) our NSRI Port Edward volunteer crew assisted 2 men on a 5.5 meter rubber-duck experiencing engine failure off the Port Edward Lighthouse.In rough 3 to 3.5 meter sea swells and a 10 to 15 knot South Westerly wind, we launched our sea rescue craft Wild Coast Sun Rescuer a tow-line was established. The casualty boat and the two male occupants have been brought safely ashore where they required no further assistance.Both men, skipper Jan de klerk, 45 and his friend Hannes Scholtz, 46, are farmers from Hammanskraal, Pretoria.
