Sea Rescue – St Francis Bay – Wednesday, 03rd March, 2011. 3 anglers cut off by tide:
NSRI St Francis Bay volunteers were called out at 14:30 following reports of three anglers trapped on a rocky outcrop at Shark Point, near St Francis Bay, by the high tide. Although they were in no immediate danger they asked for assistance to get back to mainland.
Our NSRI St Francis Bay volunteer duty crew launched our sea rescue craft Spirit of St Francis II and on arrival on-scene two NSRI rescue swimmers were put into the water to swim to the ‘island.’
The men were safe but cut off by the tide.
One by one the men were assisted to our sea rescue craft and once all three were safely onboard they were brought to the sea rescue base.
The three men are Morne Barends, Charles Juba and Keith Juba, all from Humansdorp.
