Moonstruck, organised by 567 Cape Talk with BP Express was held on Saturday evening, raising R28 000 for NSRI’s Bakoven rescue base.About 7000 people arrived to listen to the Solid Gold Session band and enjoy sunset on one of the Cape’s most spectacular beaches. Glow sticks, hats and other memorabilia were sold in aid of NSRI, raising R28 000 towards new engines for Bakoven’s rescue boat.“ It was a huge success. The bands were fantastic and not even the wind could dampen the spirit of the crowd,” said Bakoven NSRI Station Commander Mark Thompson.“ We are very grateful to Cape Talk and BP Express for organising it, and to and all the people who came down to Clifton and bought glow sticks. Through their generosity we are well on the way to being able to replace the engines on our rescue boat,” said Thompson.
