Station 27 help with search for child in Jukskei river:

NSRI volunteers from Station 25, Victoria Lake search the Jukskei river.

Station 27, Victoria Lake, assisted the SAPS in searching for  six-year-old Angel Sibanda, who dissapeared during flash floods on Thursday evening, 25 February. NSRI teams searched on Saturday and Sunday along a stretch of the Jukskei river. Her body was later discovered by a fisherman 10kms from where she went missing.

Stn 27 enters fire fighting Rescue Challenge:

On the 17th of October members from NSRI Station 27 (Victoria Lake) entered the South African Emergency Care Scott Safety fire fighting Rescue Challenge to celebrate World Trauma Day. Award winner chooses NSRI as charity:

Earlier in the year, iNET BFA awarded a winner of the FM young Analyst Award, David Roux of Merrill Lynch, with R12 500.00 towards his choice of charity. RIP Eddie Langford:

Eddie Langford, left, during a training session.

Eddie Langford, NSRI volunteer at Station 27, Victoria Lake, passed away yesterday after a recreational quad bike accident. The accident was in Trichardt four weeks ago and Eddie was airlifted to Alberton at the time, where he has been in ICU. Eddie joined Sea Rescue in January 2006 and has served at Station 27 with pride for

Humanitarian Award for Victoria Lake Volunteer:

Gibb staff members raised R5000 for NSRI which was handed to the East London volunteers.

VICTORIA LAKE-Body of missing canoeist recovered:

VICTORIA LAKE Sunday 10th June 2012.
