NSRI volunteers are busier than ever as the festive season picks up. With increased numbers visiting beaches across the country, more people are needing the NSRI’s assistance.  Volunteers from STATION 3 – Table Bay, STATION 14 – Plettenberg Bay and STATION 16 – Strandfontein responded to a number of incidents over the last few days.

NATIONAL LIFESAVING MASTERS

Over the next few days our Lifeguards at NSRI Station 18 Melkbosstrand and NSRI Station 37, Jeffreys Bay will be competing at the Lifesaving Nationals in Port Elizabeth. We had a good kick off at the Lifesaving Masters this past weekend, with Sea Rescue bringing home a few gold medals. Natasha Kriel,  our Melkbosstrand Unit

Thanks to the Dis-Chem Foundation

Our grateful thanks to the Dis-Chem Foundation who sponsored some sun screen and sun screen lips for our lifeguards. Our 7 life guarding units countrywide will undertake a total of 1 512 volunteer days over the coming summer months focusing on saving lives at beaches through education, prevention and rescue.
