STATION NUMBER 4
EMERGENCY NUMBER

082 990 5966

Established in 1970, the Mykonos NSRI crew see plenty of action in this popular water sport and fishing region on the West Coast.

It’s no wonder Station 4 is one of the NSRI’s busiest stations: its operational area extends from Elandsbaai in the north to Vondeling in the south, covering water sport hotspots, commercial and subsistence fisheries, yacht clubs and harbours, including Saldanha’s large commercial harbour and two smaller ports in the well-known fishing town of St Helena Bay.

Established in 1970, the station operated from containers at the Saldanha Bay Yacht Club for many years before the current base was built at Club Mykonos’ marina in 2004.

Newly appointed Station Commander Nic Stevens describes his crew as “a close group who work well together, and who engage in regular training to improve their skills and save lives on South African waters”.
