Multiple rescues -28th December 2019

The good weather brought thousands of people to the beaches ~ multiple stations responded to callouts across the country. PLETTENBERG BAY: Marc Rodgers, NSRI Plettenberg Bay station commander, said: At 09h07, Saturday, 28th December, NSRI Plettenberg Bay duty crew were activated following eye-witness reports of a Trans Agulhas competitor boat capsized off-shore of Robberg Point.

NSRI volunteers are busier than ever as the festive season picks up. With increased numbers visiting beaches across the country, more people are needing the NSRI’s assistance.  Volunteers from STATION 3 – Table Bay, STATION 14 – Plettenberg Bay and STATION 16 – Strandfontein responded to a number of incidents over the last few days.
