Vacancy: Events Co-ordinator Reporting to: Marketing Manager Paterson Grading: C4 Remuneration: from R337 729.60 (Gross Annual) The remuneration includes a 13th cheque. Deductions that come off this include 7% pension, 50% medical aid premium and 1% UIF. Benefits over and above the annual amount include 8% pension, 50% medical aid 1% UIF as well as death, disability, and funeral cover.

PURPOSE: The National Sea Rescue Institute is looking for an experienced Events Co-ordinator based at their head office in Milnerton, Cape Town.
The Events Co-ordinator role forms part of the NSRI Marketing Team. Based at our head office in Milnerton and reporting to the Marketing Manager, this person is responsible for the planning and execution of internal and external events as well as project management of select marketing campaigns.

Requirements & Experience:

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in event management

• Event Management qualification or relevant tertiary education will be advantageous

• Own reliable transport and valid driver's license is essential

• Able to travel nationally when required

• Excellent time management and communication skills

• Good computer skills (MS Office essential)

• Detail orientated and highly organized

• Solutions orientated and forward thinking.

• Ability to quickly adapt to a dynamic workplace environment

• Dynamic with an ability to work well under pressure (independently and across diverse teams)


Event Management

The NSRI has 50 rescue bases around the country. We provide event support to them to ensure they have successful base openings and boat blessings as required. We deliver fundraising events such as golf days and wine auctions working together with our Fundraising Manager, Corporate Relationship Manager, and volunteers.

Brand and corporate events such as water safety activations (together with the Drowning Prevention department), our annual awards evening (together with the Awards Committee) and AGM (CEO’s event) would be the responsibility of this role. • Ensure that the National Events Calendar is maintained. • Plan and execute event set-up • Source and manage suppliers

• Ensure that the events budget is adhered to, evaluate, and manage quotations and invoicing from suppliers

• Work with the marketing team to ensure the appropriate communication and promotion of all events

• Report on event performance

• Establish and maintain relationships with venues, suppliers, and stakeholders

• Ensure all event branding is aligned with the NSRI’s CI

Project Management
The marketing team delivers various campaigns and activations which need project management support to ensure successful execution. The initiatives are led by the Marketing Manager, Digital Marketing Manager, PR Manager and in house Designer.
• Support the marketing team in execution of selective campaigns
• Monitor workflow and delivery of projects through various departments and stakeholders
• Ensure adherence to budgets
• Liaison with agencies and suppliers to ensure deadlines are met and work is executed on brief
• Report, track and measure campaign results and report back on the success of campaigns.
