Vacancy: Cause-Related Fundraiser Reporting to: Fundraising Manager Paterson Grading: D1 Remuneration: from R439 291,84 (Gross Annual) The remuneration includes a 13th cheque. Benefits are provided over and above the annual amount and include 8% company pension contribution, 50% medical aid, 1% UIF as well as death, disability, and funeral cover. Deductions include 7% pension contribution, 50% medical aid premium and 1% UIF.

PURPOSE The National Sea Rescue Institute will appoint an experienced Cause-Related Fundraiser based at their head office in Milnerton, Cape Town.

Reporting to the Fundraising Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for driving fundraising through cause-related channels and marketing, through Partnerships and Associations, Crowd Funding, and Community oriented initiatives including our Guest Speaker network

Requirements & Experience

• Tertiary qualification preferred (e.g., Marketing/Fundraising/Sales)

• 5 years+ experience in Fundraising, Cause-Related Marketing or Sales.

• Relationship management experience with social media fundraising platforms and analytics

• Good negotiation and persuasion skills, able to engage at senior level

• Good computer skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Detail orientated and highly organized

• Self-driven and takes initiative.

• Capable of managing a small team

• Ability to travel nationally

• Prior experience and interest in a related organisation would be an advantage

Responsibilities

Crowd Funding / Cause-Related Fundraising

• Identify, mobilise and manage new cause related platforms and partners for the organisation.
• Drive fundraising projects and campaigns through cause related platforms.
• Work with the Marketing Team to manage content, platforms, etc.
• Conceptualise the copy, content and ideas for cause related campaigns.
• Negotiate and manage the terms and pricing of any cause related campaigns.
• Manage partner relationships.
• Monitor and manage performance and reporting.

Partnership Fundraising

• Identify and manage fundraising partnerships (which may be with corporates, associations and/or any other organisations).
• Create any necessary supporting material for partnership projects.
• Work with other fundraising departments to identify and leverage partner fundraising opportunities.

Station and Community Fundraising

• Support stations and volunteers to mobilise partnerships and fundraising in their communities.
• Provide guidance on station fundraising approaches
• Work with stations and marketing teams to implement fundraising
initiatives.

Manage the Guest Speaker network.

• Plan and manage a structured Guest Speaker programme through the NSRI Guest Speakers and Volunteers.
• Enable fundraising from legacies arising from speaker engagements.
• Manage presentations and content around the NSRI brand.
• Manage all elements of team management.
