Our team is growing and we have a vacancy for a new fundraiser to focus on events and volunteer fundraising.
Vacancy: Fundraiser (Events), Cape Town
Reporting to: Fundraising Manager
Paterson Grading: C4
Remuneration: Gross annual R303 827 *
The gross annual includes 13 cheques / pays. Deductions that come off this include 7% pension, 50% medical aid premium and 1% UIF. Benefits over and above the annual amount include 8% pension, 50% medical aid 1% UIF as well as death and disability cover. Errors & omissions excepted.
This role includes organising and hosting all NSRI events such as our AGM, launches, boat naming/blessing ceremonies as well as all fundraising events and volunteer fundraising initiatives.
Logistics will include: Sourcing of venues and services at no charge. Building a value proposition, constructing proposals and securing corporate sponsorship for all NSRI events. Sourcing suitable prizes at no charge.
Managing all activations and providing the media team with a steady flow of relevant information. Ensuring appropriate brand visibility for NSRI and our partners at all events.
Working together with our volunteers at rescue bases around the country to host local fundraising events. Managing and growing our supporter fundraising programmes through our GivenGain platform.
Building and maintaining key stakeholder relationships and our database of participants.
Key fundraising events in our annual calendar include our annual golf day which raises R200 000 and our annual Rotary wine auctions which raise R550 000.
The ideal candidate will have excellent organisational skills, good attention to detail, the ability to multitask, good communication skills, excellent people skills and a positive outlook. We are looking for someone who is confident, dedicated, hard working and target driven. This role calls for someone who is flexible and available to work in the evenings and on weekends where necessary. The candidate should also be willing to travel.
Previous experience in event management of some kind (in your career or in your community) is essential. The interview will include a practical task where shortlisted candidates will be expected to think on their feet and present a case study to the panel.
