Georgina celebrated her 100th birthday with a trip up Table Mountain together with her children, grand children and great grand children from Australia, the UK and South Africa. The trip was sponsored by Cape Town Tourism and Table Mountain Aerial Cableway.
This Saturday – 14 March, Georgina and three generations of her family will do tandem parachute jumps to raise funds for Sea Rescue. Her goal is to buy lifejackets for Sea Rescue. You can donate via Georgina’s activist page on GivenGain by clicking here.

Georgina Harwood will be 100 years old on the 10th March 2015. She has been involved with the sea, the shore and the environment for her whole life and is now a loyal supporter of Sea Rescue.
To mark her 100th birthday next month, Georgina is planning to do what few great-grandmothers would dream of doing: skydive.
This gallant old lady will dedicate her jump to NSRI volunteers and is raising awareness and funds to donate new, made in South Africa, life jackets to as many crew as she can. Each lifejacket costs R1200.
“I am more afraid than I was before. This is a big jump for me, turning 100 and all,” she said.
Georgina and her daughter Sue Homer joined our crew on their training day.
