Our Operations team is looking to appoint a hard working administrative assistant for training, procurement and operational administration assistance. The post will involve data capturing, typing, filing and assistance in all administrative facets of the operations department, supporting the training team, procurement department and stations. A driver’s license is preferable, and computer literacy in Email, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word is essential. Hours are from 8am to 5pm, and this is a full time, full day position. Our fundraising team is looking to appoint a secretary. This post will ideally suit a young graduate who is bright, capable and eager to learn and grow. Duties will include basic administration such as typing and filing as well as sourcing prizes and assisting at fundraising events. We operate in a very dynamic environment and no two days will be the same. Working hours are 8am to 5pm and you will take over reception duties from 3pm. If you are a hard worker and humble enough to take on menial tasks – we will be happy to mentor you, teach you everything we know and help you build a career at one of South Africa’s most loved charities. Training and Logistics Assistant
We are looking for a training and logistics assistant to complement our training team. The post is suited to a humble, hard-working, diligent young person with initiative and a passion for the Sea and for training. The post is a position to grow and gain experience in a wide range of Sea Rescue operational activities, and to develop skills and experience in training and development. Computer literacy (a working knowledge of email, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel) is a must, and the candidate must possess a driver’s license (endorsed for trailer over 750kg), and be prepared to travel frequently, at short notice, as well as work long hours and on weekends. Bequest Officers (KZN / Gauteng / Port Elizabeth)
We are looking for outgoing men or women to share our Sea Rescue stories with the retired community as part of our fundraising effort. Applicants should be good conversationalists, capable public speakers and motivated self-starters – ideally older than 45. The candidate will need to have their own cell phone, computer and access to a printer in a very basic home office, own reliable transport and must be comfortable to travel locally to visit retired supporters in their homes. A vacancy exists for a fundraiser to join our team to focus on state funding. A proven track record in successful fundraising for a minimum of 5 years is essential. We are looking for a team player who is goal oriented and a self-starter. The candidate should be bilingual, have strong writing skills with experience in writing proposals and feedback reports. Attention to detail, meticulous planning and being deadline driven are essential characteristics. This is a full time, full day post in our head office. We will also be recruiting two WaterWise Educators. We are extending our WaterWise Academy program and have vacancies in KZN and Sedibeng. The successful candidates should have a matric certificate and it will be an advantage to be fluent in English and an African language. We are looking for someone who is passionate about teaching disadvantaged children about water safety, comfortable with public speaking and an excellent communicator. You will need to have your own cell phone and access to the internet, be willing and able to travel to schools in the area daily, be dedicated, reliable and able to work independently. Call Centre and Face to Face Promotions Team
While our NSRI crews are out at sea saving lives, we have a team raising funds to support their rescue work. If you have excellent communication skills, good references and are goal oriented you may be a good candidate. You must be a team player, motivated, energetic and have good interpersonal skills. The call centre is based in Milnerton, Cape Town, on the MY CITI bus route. There are also teams that promote NSRI, face to face, in shopping centres in Johannesburg and Cape Town.
