We have a vacancy for a WaterWise Academy Instructor in the Eastern Cape Port St Johns / Mthatha region.

WaterWise Academy Instructor Port St Johns (Patterson B4)

The successful candidate should have a matric certificate and be fluent in English and Xhosa. The post is a full time, half day job and the successful candidate will:

  • Be passionate about teaching disadvantaged children about water safety.
  • Comfortable with public speaking and an excellent communicator.
  • Have own cell phone and access to the internet.
  • Be willing and able to travel to disadvantaged schools in the area daily.
  • Be dedicated, reliable and able to work independently.

The job includes:

  • Educating children about water safety, peer rescue and HandsOn CPR.
  • Reaching targets in both quantity and quality of the water safety lesson.
  • Public talks / speaker at schools, focusing on primary schools.
  • Sourcing schools and make appointments to teach the WaterWise lesson.
  • Accurate statistic keeping for both paper and online WaterWise records.
  • Write about and photograph lessons according to a schedule provided by the WaterWise Academy manager.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge on drowning incidents in your area.

Call Centre and Face to Face Promotions Team

While our NSRI crews are out at sea saving lives, we have a team raising funds to support their rescue work.  If you have excellent communication skills, good references and are goal oriented you may be a good candidate.  You must be a team player, motivated, energetic and have good interpersonal skills.  The call centre is based in Milnerton, Cape Town, on the MY CITI bus route.   There are also teams that promote NSRI, face to face, in shopping centres in Johannesburg and Cape Town.
