Public Relations/Guest Speaker Paterson Grade: C2 (half day post)

We are re-advertising for a position in the area based in the Helderberg Basin

If you are a people’s person, have experience in public speaking, can tell great stories and are willing to follow up with prompt and accurate admin – then we would love to hear from you. Your primary function will be to speak about Sea Rescue at clubs & societies, retirement villages, schools and give occasional tours around our rescue bases. You will also host occasional golf days and attend shows & exhibitions. This is a half day, work-from-home post which requires a fair amount of travelling up the coast as far as George and Wilderness.  Own phone, home office and own reliable car are essential. Donor  Support Administrator – Paterson Grade: B3

This is a support role in our Fundraising team where you will be responsible for data capture, producing financial reports, liaison with donors, issuing SARS certificates / BEE certificates and sending thank you letters.

Our donors are very important to us and we are looking for a candidate who is diligent, accurate, has a good telephone manner and a sincere desire to communicate and problem solve with empathy and compassion.

Candidates should be computer literate, have 2 years admin experience and preferably be familiar with a CRM programme.  We sit in an open plan office – so it is important that the candidate is a team player.  Our offices are in Three Anchor Bay and office hours are 9am to 5pm.

Water safety Instructor, Paterson Grade: C1 

We are extending our water safety schools programme and have vacancies in the Richards Bay area of KZN and East London area in the Eastern Cape.

The successful candidates should have a Matric certificate and it will be an advantage to be fluent in English and an African language. The successful applicant must be able to work during school hours and will:

  • Be passionate about teaching disadvantaged children about water safety
  • Be comfortable with public speaking and be an excellent communicator
  • Have own smart phone and access to the internet
  • Be willing and able to travel to schools in their area daily
  • Be dedicated, reliable and able to work independently

The NSRI water safety Instructor Job description includes:

  1. Educating children about water safety, peer rescue and CPR
  2. Reaching targets in both quantity and quality of the water safety lesson
  3. Public talks/speaker at schools, targeting mainly primary schools but may include other groups
  4. Sourcing schools and make appointments to teach the water safety lesson
  5. Accurate statistic keeping for both paper and online records
  6. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge on drowning incidents in your area

Call Centre and Face to Face Promotions Team

While our NSRI crews are out at sea saving lives, we have a team raising funds to support their rescue work.  If you have excellent communication skills, good references and are goal oriented you may be a good candidate.  You must be a team player, motivated, energetic and have good interpersonal skills.  The call centre is based in Milnerton, Cape Town, on the MY CITI bus route.   There are also teams that promote NSRI, face to face, in shopping centres in Johannesburg and Cape Town.
