Ranging in size from 3 to 8.5 metre inflatables and up to 13 metre self-righting all-weather rescue craft, the NSRI fleet is equipped for both inland and offshore rescue situations. These boats can cost anything from R35 000 for the smaller craft and up to R4 million for the larger vessels.
The NSRI fleet operate all year round, day or night. The Institute’s craft are all-purpose designed and built to the highest standards, incorporating the best safety features and equipment available.

Station 6 rescue vehicle |

This 4x4 rescue vehicle is based at Station 6 (Port Elizabeth). There are three other craft stationed there – a 10m deep-sea rescue vessel, a 7.3m RIB and a 4.2m RIB. |
