Over 1 million SA children are WaterWise:

Congratulations to the WaterWise Academy Instructors who have taught 1 012 973 children about water safety since inception of the program in 2006.

Our 10 full time Instructors, and nine volunteers, who are based from Soweto to Ceres and Port Elizabeth to Khayelitsha have touched the lives of 104 338 children so far in 2016.

Sea Rescue’s proactive educational initiative is aimed at children from disadvantaged communities who are taught how to avoid an emergency in water, how to safely rescue a friend, who to call for help and how to do HandsOn CPR.

Thank you to every single person and corporate for making this possible through your generous donations. Especially to Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA) and the Princess of Monaco Foundation: South Africa for their sponsorship of our WaterWise Academy Instructors.

Children learn the emergency number 10177.

This is wonderful work you are doing. I would love to be able to volunteer with the waterwise project. I was involved in assisting Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation to set up a learn to swim project on the Natal North Coast. this involved orphaned rural children, it was a very successful initiation which is still developing and growing legs. it would be wonderful to not only teach these kids waterwise safety but to to actually teach them to swim. take care and keep up the wonderful work.
