Rescue 15 is in the water!

Today, Tuesday 6th November, Mossel Bay’s Brede, Rescue 15, was put in the water at Royal Cape Yacht Club. She arrived in the Cape as Lyoness and has, with some hard work, been changed into a Sea Rescue boat.

She looking splendid in her NSRI colours! Rescue 15 will be sailed to Simons Town this weekend and in the first weather window will complete the journey to Mossel Bay where she will serve.

Rescue 15 leaving Treetops.

Arriving at Royal Cape Yacht Club.

  1. To Dawie and crew at Station 15. It’s been a long wait but it looks like it was worthwhile. She looks fantastic. May she serve you well.

Dawie and crew, must feel a little like a long-awaited birth. I know she’ll serve you well and you will take great pride in this long-awaited new addition.

Hi, I am writing a book about ex RNLI lifeboats. Any chance you could send me some high-res photos of this lifeboat? Many thanks, Nick Leach
