Station 9, Gordons Bay, and Station 10, Simon’s Town, did a combined training exercise on Saturday. Gordon’s Bay started training at 02H00 on Saturday morning and arrived in Simon’s Town at 08h30. After the two stations enjoyed breakfast together allowing time for the crew chat, the three rescue boats all put to sea where we conducted training on various levels of towing between all craft and medical emergencies aboard the various boats.
Station 10 treated Station 9 to a late afternoon braai.
At 20h00 Simon’s Town’s Spirit of Safmarine and Gordon’s Bay’s Jack Riley conducted navigational search and rescue exercises in False Bay and the exercise ended off with all craft back at Gordon’s Bay for a debrief and coffee, this time hosted by Station 9. Spirit of Safmarine then sailed back to Simon’s Town eventually locking up the base at midnight.

Great to see Station’s training together and the sharing of knowledge between them on the different classes of craft in the False Bay area!
