Meet Bakoven’s new 6,5 :

Bakoven’s new rescue boat was introduced to the station for the first time this afternoon. Four of the Bakoven volunteers were given a briefing on the 6,5 metre Gemini RIB before putting her through her paces in flat calm conditions.

  1. Long awaited and much appreciated. A big thanks to Gemini and Mark Hughes and Phil Ress for making this happen.

I had the honour of meeting Mr Hein Schipper at the NSRI wine auction in 2009 and 2010. He is an absolute gentleman extraordinaire. It is so fitting to name the new vessel after him. Thank you Mr Schipper for all your wonderful support and may you have a wonderful and blessed 101st birthday later this month.
