The work on the Hout Bay Sea Rescue boat, MTU-Nadine Gordimer, is progressing well according to Station Commander Brad Geyser, who visited Tree Top Marine to check up on his rescue boat with his deputy Lyall Pringle, this week. The Hout Bay volunteers were happy to see how well the work was being done.
“We were impressed with the contractors knowledge and progress,” said Brad.

We also saw the new engines and gear boxes in their packing cases waiting to be installed as well as the new electrical fittings that will significantly upgrade our ability to conduct all weather rescue operations. We cannot wait to get her back and go to sea! Thanks Mark Hughes for all the hard work you are personally putting into this project to ensure a successful refit.
looks great so far, that must be fun to be apart of that refit.Could i make a suggestion, the hatch above the coxians chair, swing it 180 deg, so that the open part faces aft. Reason for this, if it rains or splash from a wave it wont enter the cabin, or break the hatch. This setup will still allow air flow as it will suck the air from the cabin. Just a thought.
Hi Lorenzo
Thanks for that info, it has been discussed and the hatch will face backwards! Because of some of the issues you have raised.
Have Fun in Durban!
